My Pebble Urn

Choosing what to do with a child or adult's ashes

It can be a confusing, distressing and overwhelming time trying to make the right decision around what happens to your loved one's cremated remains. Some people know soon after the loss and make a quick and clear decision while others take time to decide what is right for them. There is no right or wrong answer, and you can take as long as you need. There is no rush.

A lasting way to remember your loved one is to have a portion of their ashes placed inside an exquisitely handcrafted porcelain cremation urn with their name, an important date or a few meaningful words inscribed on the top. These urns are beautiful to hold and provide an enduring way to honour and celebrate your person's life, no matter how long or short.

Keeping the ashes:

Some people choose to keep their loved one's ashes together in the one urn. If this is your wish, then our urns will unfortunately not be big enough. Our small, medium & large urns are the right size to keep a small portion, for example a tablespoon up to 450ml, amount as a keepsake and place in to one of our urns.

Scattering your loved one's ashes:

Some people choose to scatter all their loved one's ashes or keep a small portion and scatter the remainder in a meaningful place that has significance to them.

Interring your loved one's ashes:

Others choose to inter their loved one's ashes. Interring ashes is the process of placing cremated remains in a permanent resting place for example in a cemetery, a niche wall, a mausoleum or buried in a private garden or woodland.

It is still possible to keep a portion of your loved one's ashes (as a keepsake) for any of these three options.

Your grief holds your scars.

Don’t hide them. It is part of who you are now.

Your scars may never fully heal because your loved one and your loss are always a part of you ... a sign of your love and their existence.

Honour them and their memory in those scars.

We cannot thank you enough! Maeves urn arrived yesterday morning, it is just so so beautiful and absolutely perfect for her.

I may have cried more than a few happy tears, I am so in awe of its beauty but also how soft and textural it is, it's amazing! We will treasure it always.

"One of my last outings with dad was to a beautiful park. As we walked around, he stumbled across a birds' nest on the ground, which I took home. 'Bobba' always loved birds. Our last night together was watching a David Attenborough bird documentary. When mum gifted me some of dad's ashes, lovingly encased in a beautiful ceramic heart, it made sense that the birds nest would be dad's final resting place within my home.

I love having a part of him with me so beautifully displayed. It is so comforting and reassuring to know that he is still around".

Millie, Bobba's daughter

Thank you so much for the amazing custom urn you made for our much missed and precious little girl.

We are so grateful for you making such a personalised final resting place for her.
